Professor Daniel Chemisana is Full Professor in Applied Physics (since 2017) and Coordinator of the Mechanical Engineering degree at the University of Lleida (since 2011), where he leads the Dynamic Systems Applied to Solar Energy group since 2014. He conducts research on Concentrating Optics, Photovoltaics, Hybrid Photovoltaic/Thermal Systems and Building Integrated Photovoltaics with around 16 years of experience. He teaches Applied Physics and Solar Energy related courses in different BSc and MSc studies in the University of Lleida and in other universities. He has supervised ~ 100 BSc and MSc theses. His research has been internationally recognized as demonstrated by over 150 papers including > 110 indexed in ISI JCR, +90% in Q1. He is co-author of several international book chapters published in the most prestigious editorials, such as CRC press, Elsevier or Springer. He has established solid international/national networks, strengthened through several pre/postdoctoral research visits, which led him to co-author articles with more than 100 researchers worldwide. In terms of projects, he has participated in more than 50 research projects and contracts with companies, 36 of them as Principal Investigator. Moreover, he has 5 patent applications and he was founder partner of the spin-off Trigen solar. In addition, he is reviewer for more than 20 international journals in the field of renewable energy and optics, associate editor of IET Renewable Power Generation, member of the editorial board of Renewable Energy (until 2020) and chairman and scientific committee member of several international conferences such as Eurosun or CPV-X. In 2019, and in 2024, he obtained the prestigious ICREA Academia award and in 2008 the SOLVAY prize for the best innovative technological project for a new business idea.

Dr Alberto Riverola is Lecturer Professor of Applied Physics at the University of Lleida. Since 2015, his work has focused on building-integrated PVT systems, encompassing simulation and modeling, fabrication, and experimental characterization. He has published 14 JCR papers and 1 book chapter.
