Abstract of the presentation:

This talk will address the essential processes and techniques for assessing risk in historic urban areas, emphasising their practical applications to support decision-making. The focus will be given to how the assessment of the seismic vulnerability can be used to identify critical buildings and how that information can be exploited to aid pre-disaster and post-disaster decision-making. Ways of addressing and handling uncertainty in large-scale assessments will also be discussed, along with possible calibration and validation approaches.
